Belly painting is a special celebration of the mom-to-be and her growing baby bump. It can be a quiet one-on-one session or the center of attention at the baby shower where everyone will Ooooh and Ahhh over the process of transforming the bump to a colourful masterpiece.
There is many things to consider when you get the request for a belly paint but most important is the well being of the person you are painting.
This video contains 7 tips that cover the most important things to consider when doing a belly paint and is a great go-to tool for painters who have never painted a baby bump before.
This belly painting took approximately 2 hours because of the complexity of the design. Usually I plan a 1 hour design that is less intricate for regular clients.
However once in a while I get my hands on a gorgeous model and I go all in and transform the entire body. This is perfect for building a portfolio, getting out of your regular comfort zone of 1 hour bookings and just be an artist with a living canvas!
It is always great to have one or more inspirational sources to draw from when sketching your design and planning your colour scheme so everything ties beautiful together in the end. You can see more belly painting designs on my Instagram page and hopefully feel inspired to begin painting lots and lots of beautiful bumps!
