It's time to prepare for scariest time of the year. Halloween is coming and I'm reviewing few props that can be used by professionals as well as someone who doesn't have experience with sfx make up or face painting.
WOOCHIE 3D FX KIT - HORNS
In this kit we have stipple sponge, fx blood, peel and stick horns and pair of tattoos.
Every kit has instructions that are easy to follow, I'm just gonna point out some tips and what you should be watching for. Apply the temp tattoos first; put them where you want them to be and press with wet cloth - hold it for about 40sec or more (even though it says 20sec). Don't rush this because you will ruin tattoo sticker. I was surprised how good it looked on skin, it's just a bit sheer/transparent so it looked more realistic.
The horns were so easy to apply! Just peel off the backing and stick. They are soft so they can be used on kids with no fear for hurting someone with them.
The next step is to cover those white circles around horns. Use your regular foundation and sponge, after that take a stipple sponge to apply some FX blood and tap around horns. Then I used black Mehron powder paint to create shadow around and on the horns.
Those horns are really durable and they stick really well, so remove them carefully and you can use them again!
Removing the rest of this fast Halloween design was easy to, just use a cotton bud and warm water or make up removal that you use.
This is really good kit and I would definitely recommend it!
