Welcome back! This week I'll be showing you how to create this beautiful heart face. This design is more artsy and is a great way to sharpen your skills and get a great pic for your website and portfolio. Let's get started!
Here's what you'll need:
- Paradise Red Face Paints - Red
- Paradise Pink Face Paints - Light Pink
- Paradise Pink Face Paints - Dark Pink
- Paradise AQ Purple Face Paint - Brilliant Fuschia
- Paradise Black
- Loew-Cornell® American Painter™ Short Handle #6 Filbert Brush
- Loew-Cornell® Gold Grip #4 Round Brush
- Aqualon Filbert Wisp Brush
- Always Wicked Art Butterfly Sponge
Follow these steps:
Load your #4 Round brush with Paradise Red and paint your heart shape. It doesn't have to be perfect since you will be painting black around the entire heart at the end.
Continuing with your Paradise red and #4 round brush, begin painting in your pattern inside the heart shape as shown.
Using your Filbert brush, begin filling in the heart patterns by alternating the Paradise red and pink colors.
Your heart should look similar to this one when you have finished.
Using your filbert brush and Paradise Black, you will begin to add shading using a dry brush technique. You will want to add shading to the inside edge of the heart and each shape inside the heart.
Next, load your #4 Round brush with Paradise black and outline the entire heart and each shape inside the heart.
Load your sponge with Paradise black and stipple on the outside of the heart.
Finally, Load your wisp brush with Paradise black and shade the edges of each pattern shape as shown.
I had a black head cover that works great for pictures. Always remember to match your background to create the illusion of the design being the only thing in the picture. For example, if I had painted the outside of the heart with white, my background should also be white.
Thanks for joining me again this week! Be sure to let us know what you would like to see in future blogs and share your designs with us on Facebookand Instagram.
Until next time… Live, Love, Paint!!
