We would like to extend a hearty congratulations to the winner of last month's Roses Contest! There were so many beautiful entries that it was a difficult choice, but the final decision by the judges was for Elaine Goh's design.
It's always wonderful to hear about each artist's journey in the face painting industry and to find out what inspires her, so we asked Elaine to share a little about herself, and here is what she had to say.
Roses Contest Winner:
Elaine Goh
What inspired you as you created your winning design?
I love roses. Usually I don’t add double-dipped flowers to it, but I did this time and somehow the colours all seemed to work. The colours I tend to use in my designs are usually inspired by the colours of my client’s clothes or accessories.
How long have you been face painting?
I have been face painting for eight years. I face paint as a profession now, along with balloon twisting, and I am starting to venture into deco-twisting as well.
What materials did you use to complete your design?
For this design I used my own custom one stroke colours. The colour combinations for the leaves and petals have been quite popular. I used a petal brush for the double-dipped flowers, and 1/2” angled brush for the rose petals, and 5/8” angled brush for the leaves.
Would you like to share a website or social media links so artists can check out more of your work?
