This belly painting design is bright and colourful, perfect for a beautiful and special memory of this magical moment.
I hope this step by step is helpful and useful ... let's get started!
Materials:
Party Explosion Rainbow Cake
Silly farm Paint Pal Swirl # 4
Step 1
Start by sketching on the belly the main elements of the design, in this case: a butterfly, a moon and a flower. I outline the butterfly in black because later on I will use black as the outer colour of the wings.
Step 2
Paint the background colours. Sponge three different blue tones for a bright sky.
Step 3
Paint the moon in white with a big filbert brush to cover the area faster and sponge on it slightly with grey to suggest the craters.
Step 4
Paint the butterfly wings in two different pink tones using a filbert brush again and continue with lighter pink in the outer part of the flower petals.
Step 5
Paint in the centre of the flower a small black area and continue with dark pink, then drag the black on the pink to give depth to the centre of the hibiscus.
Once dry, paint with a round brush the stamen doing a teardrop and different size dots.
Step 6
Fill in the green leaves with a darker green in the border areas.
Step 7
Now paint the body of the butterfly with black and the outer part of the wings too, leaving some blank spaces.
Step 8
Fill in those spaces with white. Paint with a liner brush the antennas and the wing veins, dragging some black in the direction of the butterfly body to give more dimension.
Give some highlights with a thin round brush and white paint on top of antennas and upper part of the butterfly body.
Step 9
Outline the full design with a rainbow using a flat brush.
Paint some dots and stars and that’s it!
