Tutorial: Construction Jackhammer Cartoon

Like most face painters, I have loads of super hero, princess, animal, and butterfly designs. But necessity is the mother of invention, so they say, and as I had a construction themed party this weekend, I needed some special designs to feature for my client. This hard-working cartoon jackhammer is one of the designs that I created for the event.

Materials

TAG Yellow Face Paint
Diamond FX or Wolfe White
Diamond FX or Wolfe Black
Mehron Paradise Silver Face Paint

#2 Round Brush
#1 Round Brush

Tutorial

To make your own jackhammer, begin by placing two white ovals on the cheekbone with your #5 round brush for your jackhammer’s eyes.

Using yellow, make a square around the eyes with your #5 or #2 round brush.

Then fill in the area around the cartoon eyes. If you use a larger brush, like the #5 round for this, it will be a little quicker.

Use the #2 round brush and black to place two small rectangles on either side of the jackhammer for handles. On the bottom, center a rectangle and square underneath it as shown in the photo.

Add a slender silver rectangle and square underneath with the #2 round brush.

Use the #1 round brush and black to outline the jackhammer, facial features, and the silver portion on the bottom.

Also add a few slender movement lines around the cartoon to make it appear as though the jackhammer is vibrating.

Add a few tiny white highlights here and there, and you’re cartoon is finished. The construction theme is not one you see frequently, and it can be a challenging one to find designs for, so I hope you’re able to use this little jackhammer design for your construction parties in the future.
