This is a very iconic, cute fuzzy bear who comes from the creative and unique culture of the Grateful Dead.  The “Dancing Bears’ are as popular now then they were back in the 1970’s with Grateful Dead fans alike.  This one is ready for the Holidays!

Application:

1. Starting with the small round brush, and the white face paint, you’ll want to outline the bear first. Start with the head.

2.Add the collar below the head, and his stomach.

3. Add arms and legs. The front paw is only seen a little. The back one completes the back of the stomach and come back around under the collar. The front leg is straight, and the back bent at the knee.

4. Since it’s Christmas time, we’ll add a little Christmas hat.

5. Now you’ll want to start to color in the design. The bear fur is found in a variety of bright colors, and the color is usually a contrasting color. In this design we’ll use green and red for Christmas.  Starting with the metallic green, fill in the fur of the bear.

6. Next, fill in the color and hat with red. Use white for the trim of the hat, and for the bears ears, and front paw.

7. Using the small round brush and the black face paint outline your design. Paint two rectangle eyes on a slant, a round nose, and a big smile. Outline the fur with shaggy lines to bring out the fur. Add white highlights around his legs and fur.
