Application
- Using a clean sponge and the yellow face paint start by creating a triangle that will be the top of the beak. Starts about a quarter of the way up the forehead, directly above the nose and angle down until just below the inner edge of the eyebrow, do that on both sides.
- To create the bottom half of the beak, start at the bottom corner of your triangle and angle down to a point about halfway down the center of the nose, repeat on the other side. You should now have an elongated diamond that you need to fill in with Yellow.
- Using a clean sponge and white face paint you are going to create the eyes. Create two large white ‘eyes’ that go about halfway up the forehead.
- Take the black pencil and outline the beak and eyes, then draw in pupils. Create thick, heavy rectangular eyebrows. On the Red Bird it is usually a monobrow, or joined brows. If you don’t get this part right, the children will notice.
- Now you finish up the bird by creating it’s head. Using Red, and a fresh sponge, create a half circle that encompasses your beak and eyes and fill it in.
