Materials

• Kryvaline Glowgaze split cake
• Diamond FX white
• Diamond FX black
• #5 round brush
• Sponge
• Cosmetic glitter

Tutorial

1. Load the flat side of your sponge with Kryvaline Glowgaze. Shape the butterfly wing on the face, angling away from the inner corner of the eye at a 45 degree angle. For the bottom wing, keep it small and triangular, coming away from the corner of the eye. It should be smaller than the top wing. If the child in the chair would like glitter, add some now while your paint is still damp. Once it dries, the glitter won’t stay on as well.

2. Load your #5 round brush from the Diamond FX black. (Wolfe black or Global strong black work well for this as well.) Outline your wing shape by and create some inner shapes, always keeping the lines thinner as they approach the eye.

3. Use the #5 round for the body and antennae as well placing them near the inner corner of the eye. Remember to use thin to thick to thin for your butterfly antennae. Less pressure on your brush creates thinner lines. Pressing a little harder makes the line thicker, so you’ll be using less pressure, then more, and then less again as you curl the antennae around to a point.

4. Finally, add some white dots and starbursts to your design for contrast and highlights. The best thing about this design is that it’s fairly quick, since you only use one split cake and two colors, so hopefully it will help your line move along while still providing a glittery butterfly design with striking contrast.
