Holiday Poinsettias are a fun flower to paint for the holidays. You can adapt this design to go around the eye or keep it on the arm as so.
Tools:
Medium #4 Round Brush
Small Round #1 (1/16″) Brush
paper towels or cloth
water container
(optional) Fine Mist Spray bottle with water
(optional) Baby wipes
Colors used in this picture:
Red Face Paint
Diamond FX Face Paints – Metallic Green
Wolfe Face Paints – Yellow
White Face Paint
Optional: Amerikan Body Art Cosmetic Glitter – Holographic White (Sheer)
Application:
1. Starting with the medium round brush and the red face paints, start to add the petals of the flower. You can quickly and easily paint the petal with two brush strokes. Just push the brush down, then pull up as you create half of the petal shape. Repeat to make the other half. Have it meet at a point.
2. Continue to fill out the flower design by adding petals.
3.Next, using the green face paint, add the leaves along the sides and in the middle of the bloom.
4.Continue to add vines coming out from each side, add plenty of leaves to fill in. Outline the inner petals of the leaves, using the green.
5. Add yellow dots in the center of the bloom using the smaller round brush. Add some highlights to the leaves using the yellow, and around the design where you see fit. Follow up with the white, adding more highlights, and giving more definition to the leaves.
Add glitter to the design using the poof-able glitter and a mist spray bottle. Lightly mist the design with water, then poof on the glitter. It will give it a nice even coverage.
