Toy Story introduces these new cuddly toy characters in their upcoming new movie, Toy Story 4. This funny talkative pair are just hanging out at the carnival waiting for someone to win them....and the rest is a Toy Story adventure!
"To infinity... and beyond!"
Step One: stencil
Start by applying the stencil. I used the Ooh! Sphere Stencil-Doily. I love this stencil for carnival and circus designs as it looks like a ferris wheel. I used Fusion Mermaid Splash Rainbow cake and sponged it over the stencil. You can use any colorful rainbow cake such as TAG Neon Rainbow.
Step Two: Bunny base
Using a filbert brush with Kryvaline regular light blue, paint Bunny’s head, ears and two arms. I try to paint everything that I will use one color for so I can save time.
Step Three: the rest of the base colors
Continue applying the base colors. Yellow for Ducky, with an orange beak and one foot. I like to mix regular orange paint with a neon pink to make it brighter. You will also notice that I added a darker blue to Bunny for shadows, and I used orange on the right side of Ducky’s face for a shadow. If time allows, you could always blend these colors together a bit more.
Step Four: green and white eyes
Add green on the eyelid, inside Bunny’s ears, and give him a nose. Next, paint the eyes on each character.
Step Five: black outline
This is the part that starts making your characters take shape...the black outline! Use a small round brush for the line work.
Step Six: white highlights
Add white highlights to each character where the light would be hitting them.
Step Seven: white details
To give this design more pizazz, I added a white border around the two characters. This is an optional step depending on the time you have, but I love how this looks with a white border! Also, add starbursts and dots around to give it sparkle. Finish off with some pink glitter lips. I used magenta for the lip color with a disposable lip applicator and then applied pink glitteron top. I added some blue glitter to Bunny to give it more sparkle.
There you have it! A winning design that all the kids will love, both boys and girls. Enjoy the new movie and making it come to life on the job. As Bunny would say, “To Infinity, and your Mom!”
